Tuesday Pow-day Report

A look at the Weekend Winners & Next Week’s Place to Be

A bit of a Hiatus these last two weeks and what a weird weather time while I was gone.

This year I have really wondered at the way winter has been…..

Weird.

This past weekend, however, proved to be the return of the snow (seriouslyneeded).  Everyone was able to get into the fun of fresh powder days but it was New England that received the gift of pristine powder on Saturday and Sunday.

Weekend Warriors rejoice!

This week’s winter is not far from the winter wonderland of Lake Placid, NY, but it’s not the resort you are thinking.

Titus Mountain

This resort in Malone, NY is about an hour from Lake Placid and two hours from Montreal, Canada.

Titus Mountain received 26 inches of snow over the weekend with 20” falling over Saturday and Sunday.

Another amazing small resort with reasonable ticket prices and great terrain.  In fact it was winner of best in snow by Liftopia from 2017-2019.  They boast 53 trails and 8 lifts which you can enjoy for the cost of a lift ticket (Adultprice: $49-$69).

The resort itself does not offer lodging, yet, they have partnered with area hotels like Holiday Inn Express & Suites to offer ski and stay packages.

Personally I think this place is perfect for those who would like to visit Lake Placid and want to add a day of skiing or riding to their activity list.  This would make a perfect winter getaway vacation.

Next Week’s Powder

Looks like most of the heaviest accumulations of snow will hit the mountains of the U.S.  either just before or just after the weekend.  To me, that only means one thing.

BLUEBIRD POW DAYS!

Seems like the Cascade and Sierra Mountains will be the big winners.  If you ask me, I’d set my sights on Mount Shasta for my fun in the sun.
