Monday…no Tuesday Powday Report

A look at the Weekend Winners & Next Week’s Place to Be

I must have taken a powder day?  More like flu day and as this is a one woman show, you had to wait until today to get the weekend winner as well as next week’s place to be.

And in honor of the one woman show, we have one featured resort for both last weekend’s winner and next week’s place to be!  This gem had over two feet of fluff accumulated from Friday into Monday.  And it is on tap to get more and more snow as the week progresses.  Ah Alaska...and Alyeska Resort!

Alyeska

I like how Alyeska is starting the 23-24 Winter Season..  Each day seems to be a few inches of accumulation…with the exception of Monday at 16” reported, the daily single digit accumulations create a consistency in the snow that helps to build that base foundation.

This beautiful place is a 40 min drive from Anchorage down the Seward Highway.   You can fly into Anchorage and start your jaw dropping journey right away because this highway is a stunning drive.

Bucket list anyone?

It might feel like you are in the middle of nowhere, but believe me, you will not lack for creature comforts while staying and enjoying all the mountain can provide.

Next Week’s Powder

Since Alyeska is due to continue down the snowfall road….let's look at some reasons why we might want to drag our butts up to this place, besides the “pinch-me” scenery.

Look, I know Alaska sounds like you better have your skills up when it comes to skiing and snowboarding.  And in most cases, especially backcountry, it’s true.  Novices however, do have a refuge with Alyeska.  The terrain at this resort caters to all abilities, so go ahead and get your bucket list trip booked.

Go for the mountain but stay for the spa?

Yes.

Have they got a spa!  It’s a 50,000sqft facility that is designed as a hydrotherapy Nordic spa…There are hot tubs, saunas, massage, and even a cold plunge.  This place is bound to have your muscles relaxed, rejuvenated, and ready to get back onto the slopes for another epic powder day.

Need to sweeten the deal?

Check out their specials and packages.  You could chose a stay and ski, a spa and stay, or just get the fourth night free.   I am digging the Nordic Night Spa Package, myself.
